Celebrity Hair and Fashion Don'ts
We’ve decided to take a look at the sources of most of our fashion and beauty trends in today’s modern media-driven society – celebrities.
While most celebrities are fashion-conscious and always look smart and stylish, we do find some “mistakes” out there. These range from
the “She should have thought twice about that” faux pas, to the “Oh my God, what was he thinking?” looks that can cause you wonder if the
world has gone mad.
Here are some notable celebrities who need someone to give them a reality check:
Pamela Anderson: “How big is too big?”
Pin-up model, TV actress (Baywatch, Home Improvement, Stacked), Lingerie designer, and
Rock-Star groupie, Pamela Anderson, has always been known for her buxom body and big blonde hair. However, she can’t seem to decide when
it’s enough when it comes to breast augmentation. Her hair always looks beautiful, but you hardly notice it because of the overabundance
of cleavage. Not even Barbie is trying to look like a Barbie doll any more. Someone should really take her aside and explain that when
her breast is larger than her head, she’s gone too far.
Naomi Judd: “When Haircolorists attack!”
I can only hope the stylist who convinced Naomi Judd to abandon her classic, glorious red locks
for this extra-dark chocolate brown is now looking for a job. The color is far too dark for her soft complexion and fine-boned features
and makes her look like a woman desperate to recapture her youth. Even if the color weren’t all wrong for her, it’s too flat and needs
some highlights to make it look natural. I thought it was common knowledge these days that as a woman gets older any hair color changes
should involve going lighter in shade and color. Apparently, Naomi’s stylists didn’t get the memo.
Tichina Arnold & The Pussycat Dolls, Tyler Perry, Chris Brown, & Israel Jacobs: “2006 Soul Train Awards – Worst Dressed”
There was a time, not long ago, when an awards show meant a parade of stars decked out in
their finest attire. The ladies were glamorous and gentlemen were dashing. Evening gowns and black-tie evening suits were the order of
the day. Apparently, those days are gone. These days, every awards show has its share of badly-dressed attendees, but there are always
those who stand out. This year the Soul Train Music Awards had its share and then some. These celebrities look like they got dressed in
the dark, or just didn’t care enough to put on their best clothes:
Tichina Arnold:
Ms. Arnold looks like she should be working for Huggy Bear (of the 70s TV-series Starsky &
Hutch) in this faux-fur and spandex monstrosity. And the peek-a-boo studded brassiere simply adds insult to eyesore.
The Pussycat Dolls:
The “Spice Girls for a new Millennium” may have fabulous hair, but their clothes look like they
should come with a brass pole. I realize that in the music industry sex sells, but one would think these ladies would have foresworn
their “glam” for some traditional glamour. C’mon ladies, leave the fishnets, micro-minis, and pole-dancer’s heels backstage.
Tyler Perry:
Perhaps because he’s a playwright and actor, and not in the music business, Mr. Perry thought
he didn’t need to dress for the occasion. Or maybe, he misunderstood the invitation and thought he was going to dance on “Soul Train”
instead of attending the awards show.
Chris Brown & Israel Jacobs:
Add two more men to the “couldn’t be bothered” category. These two guys look like they decided
to stop off at the awards show on the way to work at the mall. I know they’re young, but someone should teach these guys how to dress
for an occasion.
